Dave McPherson-The Hardship Diaries

This week has been a varying contrast in music I’ve mainly been listening to several albums form last year.

The highlight of these albums being Dave McPherson’s brilliant solo album ‘The Hardship Diaries’

Many people will know that Dave McPherson reached national success with his progressive metal band INME but this solo album is such a drastic contrast to INME’s material it would be hard to link the two together if niot for McPherson’s unique vocal style.

As the name suggests ‘The Hardship Diaries’ is a solo album that seems to deal with heartbreak and the hardships that come with it, although the musical style seems uplifting the lyrics posses dark undertones.

Overall the Hardship diaries is a dark yet welcoming album that tends to grow on you rather then impress off the bat.
